Building Effective Mentoring Relationships in Post-Secondary Education
Behind every successful student is someone who took the time to mentor them, even for a moment. In post-secondary education, mentoring can range from a single mentoring moment that sparks confidence, to a more consistent relationship with a student that offers ongoing support. This 90-minute training shows staff how to transform their everyday interactions with students into powerful mentoring moments. Staff will gain an understanding of mentoring, explore the roles and responsibilities of mentors, and discover evidence-informed strategies for being an effective mentor. Through practical frameworks, mentoring scenarios, and interactive activities, staff will gain the confidence to mentor in ways that fit their role, time, and the needs of students – creating impact one interaction at a time.
